Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before generating a QR code.
Is this free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free and there is no account, sign-up or watermark. The site is supported by ads.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated inside your browser using JavaScript. URLs, contact details and Wi-Fi passwords never leave your device. There is no server to send them to.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes: the data is stored in the image itself, so they work forever without depending on this website.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG has fixed pixel dimensions. Choose resolution for the actual print size and module density. SVG can scale without raster blur in compatible applications. Check the final print; neither format guarantees scanning.
I changed the colors and now it won't scan.
Start with dark modules on a light background. The tool warns below a relative-luminance contrast ratio of 3:1 and flags inverted colors. This is a tool check, not a QR print acceptance standard. Test the final material and lighting.
Which phones support Wi-Fi QR codes?
iPhone with iOS 11 or later and Android 10 or later recognize Wi-Fi QR codes in the built-in camera. Older devices may need a QR scanner app.
What happens when someone scans a vCard QR code?
The phone shows the contact details and offers to add them to the address book. Nothing is saved unless the person confirms.
How should I choose a print size?
There is no size that guarantees every phone and printer will work. Distance ÷ 10 and 2–3 cm examples are planning starting points, not official minimums. Preserve the four-module quiet zone and test the final code on its actual material before printing a batch.
